Melbourne Aquarium & Antarctic Exhibit

Melbourne, Victoria

The Melbourne Underwater World Aquarium is a World class interactive, multi sensory visitor experience where conservation education underpins entertainment. Located within the Central Business District of Melbourne, on the north bank of the Yarra River, the aquarium appears to be moored within the new Yarra River Turning Basin, which will become the hub of a new tourist precinct. Melbourne Underwater World Aquarium has been designed to stimulate interest, increase knowledge, and promote active conservation of the aquatic environment through innovative architecture, exhibits, public education and enjoyable recreational experiences for visitors. Peddle Thorp designed, developed and delivered the Stage 2 works of the Melbourne Underwater World Aquarium, the new Antarctica Exhibit, housing Australia's only sub-antartic penguins, the majestic King and cheeky Gentoo Penguins in a full interactive display, placing children and adults only centimetres away from the penguins.
