ESG

Our ESG Strategy

We believe our environment and our community should benefit from the buildings we create. With our in-house Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) team SBE, we seamlessly integrate sustainability from the earliest stages of project development. Collaborating closely with clients and the design team, we strive to attain both mandatory and voluntary certifications.

Our comprehensive understanding, drawn from diverse professional backgrounds, enables us to take a pragmatic approach in weighing the environmental opportunities against costs. We prioritise social impacts by utilising sustainable, low-carbon materials, incorporating passive energy designs, and fostering natural elements within our buildings and landscapes.Drawing on our extensive experience, we recognise the importance of assessing recurrent asset operating costs and energy consumption during the design phase. This foresight ensures the creation of hospitals that are not only efficient today but also sustainable for the future.

Sustainability Action Plan

Our SAP outlines a comprehensive framework for enhancing indoor environmental quality, health, and well-being. This initiative will mitigate environmental impacts and lower operating costs for our clients, aligning seamlessly with our practice’s ESG guidelines.

RAP Plan

Our commitment to building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and contributing to a more inclusive future.

Our act of reconciliation outlines meaningful actions that promote understanding, respect, and recognition of Indigenous heritage within our work and beyond. By actively engaging with Indigenous stakeholders and incorporating their perspectives, we aim to create culturally sensitive designs that honour the rich traditions, knowledge, and deep connection to Country held by First Nations peoples.

We are focused on fostering opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in the architecture and design industry. This includes supporting career pathways, collaborating with Indigenous artists and designers, and embedding cultural education within our team. We are dedicated to making reconciliation a lasting part of our culture at Peddle Thorp, ensuring that our work not only respects but celebrates Australia’s First Peoples and contributes positively to the communities we serve.
