Peddle Thorp Architects is excited to announce receiving a prestigious Australian Good Design Award Winner accolade for Ivanhoe Grammar School – Coonawarra Willam Aquatic Centre.

This year’s theme, “Design for Better”, highlights the important role design plays in creating a more balanced, inclusive and sustainable world. From reimagining products and services to transforming cities and systems, the Awards celebrate how design can drive positive change for people, the planet and shared prosperity.

The Jury praised the design, stating:

"The Coonawarra Willam Aquatic Centre is a contemporary facility offering advanced aquatic and wellness amenities. The project moves beyond the single use typology to create a mixed use educational and sporting facility that incorporates good active and passive environmental strategies. The sleeving of significant program between existing buildings is commendable, as are benefits to the school and broader community. The natural light provided by the articulated roof form seemingly creates a pleasant indoor atmosphere. A brilliant showcase of innovation and impact.”

We’re proud to see our work recognised among projects that champion innovation, sustainability, and design excellence.
